Tenar <3 my friend promised me a strangegirl protagonist in the Tombs of Atuan and I was not disappointed
btw the Earthsea books are that good and anything positive you’ve heard about them is true and the prose will break your legs and kiss your forehead and it proves wrong every criticism of ‘genre fiction’ and Ged will never be white even though those evil cover artists tried to ignore that and it tackles feminist issues in ways that so much modern fantasy could only dream of and motherhood/aging/absence of war/decentering of power through violence and so many other other taboos of fantasy are made central and powerful and it did everything first and perfectly and well the dragons are cool as fuck. You will get deeply attached to a wizard’s boat it’s called Lookfar. The boat is called Lookfar I love it like a brother.
Courier's Call S3!
I'm super excited for season 3 of Skyjacks: Courier's Call. It's a kid-lit podcast (and how many of those are there?) that combines the deep and fascinating world of Skyjacks with the good-hearted fun of kid adventurers, apprentices with the Swiftwell Courier Service!
Season 2 ended with our main party splitting up to work on different skyships until the end of their current mail route. I've put together a wishlist of things I'd like to see in the montage before the players meet up again in Thornvale.
- 1. I want Kiran to visit the Information Desk in Burza Nyth so bad!!! We know they work with the Grey Audron!!
- I want June to meet Hildred. I don't know where Hildred is or what she's been doing, but I think a professional bird rider with a falcon named Victory would be Peak role model for June
- I want Cece to meet a Luminary. don't know who, don't know when, but I am Craving more Lumen magic
If you know Skyjacks, or if you love fantasy stories, or if you just like quality AP, support the Courier's Call kickstarter! I really want to see them get to their 30 episode stretch-goal.
